Inspiring Collections

This Summer, what with moving cities, starting a new life, job, career, I haven't had much time to enjoy finding new treasures that inspire me.
So after a serious amount of travelling on our great British transport system and thus having much time to kill - I have been buying quite a few magazines to flick through.

So thank you National Rail for allowing me to find these beauties...

My first find is Aurelie Bidermann.

Aurelie trained in gemology and with a Masters in art history, the French jewelry designer is renowned for her exquisite craftsmanship. Launched in 2003, her label is an eclectic mix of bohemian and rock'n'roll edge - think cord bracelets with quirky mother-of-pearl charms.

One of my favourite pieces is this 18-karat gold-dipped lace cuff.

Gold-plated heart beaded necklace

My second find Venessa Arizaga

A Parsons graduate and ex-design director of Zac Posen, she launched her jewellery line in 2007. Inspired by a trip to Puerto Rico, her handmade designs are a striking fusion of luxe metals and colorful clusters of whimsical charms.

Silver plated chain, midnight black threading with glass pearls.

Belgian-born Vanessa Kandiyoti founded her Turkish-inspired jewelry line in 2007 with eye-catching designs based on talismanic symbols of protection and good fortune, such as the Evil Eye. Exquisitely crafted from luxe materials including diamonds and sapphires, her fine-chain charm bracelets and necklaces will add an exotic flash of glamour to every look.

Diamond and sapphire mini charm necklace.

This piece caught my attention as just a few weeks ago I bought a necklace in the accessorise sale with the hamsa charm and teamed it with a small heart shaped evil eye emblem that I had in my trinket box. And voila - my very own cheap Kandiyoti!

Mundane Monday

Even though it is a Monday, I'm sneakily having a bit of a lazy day. So to make up for it, I'm sharing some of my mundane Monday thoughts...

Blue Valentine is the story of love found and lost told in past and present moments in time. Flooded with romantic memories of their courtship, Dean and Cindy use one night to try and save their failing marriage.
Starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams this film looks magical, believable, romantic and simply true. I can't wait for it to come out.

Watch the trailer here : BLUE VALENTINE

Some pretty button earrings I made for my sister's birthday.... should be making lots more for selling...

I really want to figure out how to do the fishtail braid, so thats my Monday project... just to add another project to the list.

Alexander Wang's fishtail perfections on the S/S '10 runway.

I think I might dye my hair again today... permanent! :)
Not quite as cherry red as Cheryls but red..!

Procrastinating already - its only Tuesday.

Well, I'm awake, that's a bonus. Though I'm hugely procrastinating and seriously not feeling doing anything that uses too much energy and too many braincells.
So I have found some photos of my ladybird rings, that I ought to put up.

And here;s what my desk should look like today....but unfortunately doesn't. I'm supposed to be doing a stall at the end of the month...eek!!! MAKE woman.... nope not quite working.

Shell and Green Fluorite Necklace

This is a necklace I made for a friend's birthday...
The shell I picked from the beach in Dawlish and the green crystal is fluorite.

A stunning stone that can be used both as a valuable heart chakra stone and as a useful balancing and stress reduction stone.
"Green fluorite can bring a cleansing, tidying, mint-like freshness of spring time to the chakras and to eliminate negativity".

The Mood Board

So I know I was going to carry on the decorating on the cheap, but I had a little creative moment over the weekend that involved mood boards and fishbones! Hence I thought I would post this up instead.

Ok, I'll explain what happened. I was reading Marie Claire, and there was an article on women making a million by 30. Obviously I fell like I should be doing something with my life so started to make a wish board, because that's what one of the lovely rich ladies said they do. Though my wish board ended up in a mood board. But hey I did something.

Got cracking on setting up a lovely new workspace in the new flat in the living room/kitchen.
The actual board is a cork board that I covered in pretty wrapping paper. As it will end up on my wall in my bedroom as a reminder of the creativity that needs to flow out of me..

The pink shell next to the buttons is one of my favourites, I found it on the beach at home last week. It matches perfectly with the colours of the buttons. I will probably use them for some sort of jewellery or accessory soon.

I really like the fishbone with these buttons and ribbon! The metal button is my favourite!
As I was finishing the board off I realised I had to make this into a necklace.

What I have learnt is that visualising works! SO I have made a wish board after all and it is on my wall to remind me of the things that I want to achieve.

Visualise where you want to be every day and what you want to achieve and imagine what your life will be like when you reach this point.

Exciting stuff!!!

I've finally got my act together and made a few of the resin rings, mainly the ladybird ones and I've produced some cute hair accesories and shell earrings. Annd aload of my resin paper weights and magnets.  All of which are for sale on the market stall at Green Park Station, near Sainsburys!!!
So if anyone fancies buying anything we're there on certain Fridays and Saturdays. I will keep you posted on what weeks the stall is on.

Resin Magnets!

I have encapsulated rose petals and lace in these lovely little magnets perfect for keeping a lovely photo up or a reminder!

Resin Hairclips!

Hair-grip made out of resin with cute white lace inside it. This is one of my favourite, because it stands out just enough for it to be appreciated.
