Back and ready for action!

I apologise for being so rubbish and not posting. Had quite a long and hectic month and no internet.
But I'm back now, and ready to fill you in on all the goss... not a lot of it unfortunately, before you get over excited.. my life hasn't got that exciting yet..

I did go to Barcelona though!!! And LOVED it.
Gaudi, Beaches, MACBA, Flea Markets, Tapas and of course Mohitos!! What more could you ask for..

I bought lots of pretty things at the flea markets... all bargains! A gorgeous bracelet, countless rings, a great brown holdall for 4Euros! necklaces, a mini typewriter thats actually a pencil sharpener... an old powder foundation with a cute mirror.. not sure why, because it's not like I'm going to use it. I just loved the idea that it has once touched someones face. There is just a simple intimacy there.
I also bought little trinkets for me to turn into beautiful jewellery pieces.. so keep an eye out for them.

MACBA was holding two great exhibitions whilst I was there, one of which being Latifa Echakhch's work.
Latifa works with cultural heritage, but uses banal materials such as Spanish playing cards, tartrazine ( a food colouring used as a cheap substitute for saffron) and flag poles . All these materials featuring in her exhibition at the MACBA in Spain. She presented three installations created specifically for the space. Focusing on human flows from North Africa, people fleeing war and poverty and seeking refuge in Europe.
Born in Morocco but now living in France, Latifa provokes questions of her own cultural heritage and origin.

If you want to know more about MACBA visit my other blog, http://www.nataliaarts.blogspot.com/

I will get all my photos together and show you some of Barcelona itself!!
