So, last night I went along to have a look at some of the things going on about town, in the Illuminate Bath Festival, happening from the 1st November - 13th.
The first thing I came across was Olivia Thompson's Kinetic Light Bicycle Ride
This is happening again on Saturday I believe. To find out more check out her BLOG.
The project hopes to inspire people to get back on their bikes more and have some fun!
Here are some of the photos...
I then went on to Green Park Station, where All That Glitters was taking place, an interactive installation by Jenny Cooper.
All to do with found objects and placing them on OHPs.
Check out more of Jenny's work on her blog.
Robert Fearns also included a piece, that was displayed at the Pump Rooms in Bath.
A projected series of coloured dots, which explain the movement of they eyes of 9 participants. These participants, all psychology students, were asked to look at an image for 30 seconds and then asked to draw it from memory; as they looked a computer tracked their eye movements which produced the coloured dots.
"The writer Walter Benjamin noted that we do not look at architecture as we might look at a painting, we absorb it. Even the richly decorated Georgian facades of Bath receive little more than a passing glance. Our collective consciousness knows what they look like without consciously looking at them. This project invites the viewer to consider how they ‘see’ such buildings."
