Affordable Art Fair and Bo Lee

It would seem that I have gone and got myself a happy little job at Bo Lee Gallery in Bath.
This is obviously very exciting and perfect timing, as it stops me from killing myself over what I'm going to do after uni. However it does prove a tad more difficult timing wise - what with uni and degree shows - but oh well.

Last weekend I was in London for the AAF with Bo Lee, selling work and meeting new people and also drinking (perhaps a little too much) wine.

Our most popular artist was Bobbie Russon, whose work attracted lots of different people. Most said how sad it looked, but were transfixed by it. A lot of the people that bought her work seemed drawn to it as they could reflect their own emotions onto it, and could perhaps see themselves in the paintings.
All of Bobbies work is autobiographical and is about her own childhood, hence it could touch certain people more than others.

Ione's work is a particular favourite of mine. I admire the way in which she performs each piece, as it is such a painstakingly long process.
Ione paints the backdrop of the photo and also the models themselves. Nothing is digitally altered or photoshopped.

Some work that I liked at the fair was that of Lisa Swerling's glass cathedrals that was with My Life in Art Gallery

Hicks Gallery caught my attention with a cute little piece by Samantha Bryan

....DUST!!!!

Byard Art Gallery had some exciting things, like these lego objects and these exciting kinetic pompom pieces.

'Solar'
Waller and Hewitt

Beaux Arts a fellow Bath gallery had some interesting pieces that caught our fancy.

That is all for now.

We do have a private view at Bo Lee on Saturday of 'Yellow Wallpaper'

19th March - 16th April

PV 6-9pm
