Busy Bee

I have been so busy this week I haven't even had time to sit and watch Misfits yet! But hopefully all  my hard work will be rewarded soon.

I am now involved in a collaborative project, with fellow artist Layne Arlina and we have formed the group I Spy for all you lovely people to follow our exciting journey.
Not only are we focused on a photographic project every week, but we are now venturing into the realms of performance art! With upcoming events and shows in Bath, Bristol and Switzerland! Follow the blog for more info.

The I Spy Team

What else has been happening.. hmm.. Hatched the Free Range Blog has been at the top of the to do list,  we have been editing and changing it, to create a more  professional look.

We are hoping to attract some sponsors and donations towards raising money for the show, so if anyone would like to do either of these please visit the blog to see how to.

So, now onto the fun and even more exciting things...

Thursday I went to the Old Vic in Bristol to watch an incredible performance by the Clod Ensemble, 'Under Glass'.
An amazing rendition of humans as specimens, trapped in time, in large jam jars and glass cabinets.

In the dark you stand,  listening and hearing sounds of classical music by Paul Clark and a moving poem by Alice Oswald. Then lights come on and focus on the performers in their glass containers, and then go off again.

On Friday I went to see Gillian Wearing's 'Self Made' at the Little Theatre in Bath. And at the end of the show the I Spy team went up and spoke to her! What a lovely down to earth woman!

The film itself was amazing, shocking and surprisingly emotional - I heard a lot of sniffling. If you haven't had a chance to watch it, I highly recommend it, it will be showing at the London Film Festival.

Read all about SELF MADE HERE.

It documents the participants journey of self discovery through method acting, and finishes with them starring in a film of their own choice.

"Self Made is about the search for authenticity in the dramatic moment, and the possibilities of creativity."

Gillian posted an ad in the paper, online, and in job centres,  "Would you like to be in a film? You can play yourself or a fictional character? Call Gillian"
Seven participants were chosen to feature in the film, five of which have to delve deep into themselves through the use of method acting and a complex portrait of each person emerges.

Sam Rumbelow the method acting teacher is just incredible! His techniques and mentoring really help the individuals throughout this journey.
Have a look at the way he helps one of the participants here
I actually feel like I would like to try method acting myself!
